People first - the importance of customer service

I believe that every treatment plan should be customized to each patient. It might surprise you to hear that many dentists (especially the dental implant chains and corporations) often attempt to use the same treatment plan on every patient. No two patients are exactly alike. One patient might be a tooth grinder and need more implant support. Another might have genes that make them more susceptible to gum disease. A third might have osteoporosis. All of these factors need to be taken into account when devising a treatment that will last a life-time. Ultimately, the decision on treatment should be made by the patient in consultation with the dentist. This requires the development of a trust-based dentist-patient relationship as a starting point to any treatment.
